Pathfinder Lighting Collection

Design by Kauppi & Kauppi for Zero Lighting 2019

A collection of outdoor fixtures with a mission to define places and indicating direction.

Pathfinder is a collection of outdoor fixtures designed to illuminate promenades, paths, facades and areas under roofs. The light fixtures elementary shape, scale and many installation possibilities forms a distinct family, with a mission to define places and indicating direction.

"Our vision was to design a collection of outdoor fixtures, combining a friendly figure with a formal expression, inspired by trail markers in nature and signposts in cities. The Pathfinder collection is based on a horizontal oriented rounded shape that recurs in several fixture categories, creating a functional lighting program. The simplicity in form and the slender scale allows the design to be repeated in numerous installations and various contexts.” – Kauppi & Kauppi.

The Pathfinder collection includes three different categories - bollards, wall & ceiling fixtures. The bollards can be equipped with one or more housings, pointing in different directions to achieve varied light functions along walkways, in parks and courtyards. The ceiling fixtures can be used individually to illuminate areas under roofs or repeated in longer sequences, suitable for accentuating architectural overhangs and building eaves, creating well-lit balconies and passageways. The wall fixtures provide wide pleasant light cones on facades and can be installed to achieve focal points at building entrances.
