A collection of upscale wooden stools

Hygge is a family of up-scaled stools in solid wood, designed for Karl Andersson & Söner. Hygge comes in three sizes with three selectable accessories: a diagonal wooden armrest offers gentle support when rising, a round side table for personal use, and a long rectangular table that divides the seat into zones for reading, resting or conversation. The stools are designed to meet the demands of public environments with their sculptural shape and robust construction - while bringing a warm and calm expression.

The big sized stools offers a space to be shared by one, two or more individuals. The round shape proposes Hygge to be placed in the center of interiors. Repeated in numbers and varied in sizes Hygge can create dynamic groups resembling an indoor, on-land, archipelago. Seatings for a short break, a rest, a conversation or a coffee when waiting for the mobile phone to be recharged.

Every piece of furniture made by the producer Karl Andersson & Söner in Huskvarna, Sweden, is made with the aim to last for generations and decades. The first furniture was made more than a century ago by the founder Karl. Four generations later the three siblings running it today still stay true to their great grandfather’s early focus on wood, durability and sustainability.
